BEHIND THE LENS

 

Hello..

My name is Shana Derksen, thank you so much for visiting my website!  I am a Maternity, Child, Family and Senior Portrait Photographer living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I started photography about 6 years ago and haven't looked back since. I capture the life, love and connection every family wants to look back and remember throughout the years.

My amazing husband has supported me all the way. It all started when our first born entered this world. I wanted to capture every sweet moment as we all know they slip by so incredibly fast.  I have since then had three more littles and have captured so many memories over the years.  During this time I started offering it to people that I have been blessed with to come into my life and thats where I decided that this is something I truly LOVE to do!  From capturing the beautiful joys of pregnancy, to itty bitty baby toes and wobbly walks, to a babies first cake, generations of families, the last year of high school and the beginnings of a couples new life together.  These are all things that bring joy to what I do and how I see things through my lens.

While I love photography it is truly a

passion of mine you will also find me

spending time with my beautiful family and our bulldog Bentley and Yorkie Lucy.  I love to cook, travel, occasional date nights, our cherished friendships, crafts, music and movies.  I am a full time wife and mom of four and a native to Colorado.
